This 18 inch long Russian finished strop is 1 3/4 inch wide and backed with linen canvas, making it two strops in one.

Stropping Your Blade

To keep the fine razor edge aligned on half or full hollow ground razors, sharpen with a strop made of smooth Russian or Rind leather. Draw the edge away from you with the back of the razor on the strop and the spine of the razor facing away from you. When changing the direction, the razor should be turned over. Never raise the back of the razor off the strop; it will rake off the razor edge. Use #J55 paste for best results when stropping.
