Crafted in Seki City, Japan, where swords and knives have been fashioned for centuries. -- Featuring the single-side grind preferred by Japanese chefs, Shun Pro is cutlery for the ultimate knife connoisseur. A hollow-ground back provides an air pocket between the knife and food, minimizing adherence to the VG-10 steel blade. VG-10 blade steel is composed of Carbon, Cobalt, Manganese, Molybdenum, siliconee and Vanadium - creating an incredible steel that forms and retains edges superior to many other steels used in kitchen cutlery. Shun Pro also boasts handsome Pakkawood handles - shaped to fit the palm of the hand - set off by stainless steel bolsters. Shun Knives are ground at an approximate 15 degree angle.
